Katakura Kojuro and Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura
Noboribetsu, now known nationwide as a popular onsen area, was first developed in the Meiji period by descendants of Kojuro Katakura, known as Date Masamune’s right hand. Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura continues to preserve that pioneering tradition.
